MEET REBECCA
Rebecca Yarbrough founded Yarbrough Accounting & Consulting Firm, LLC formerly known as RLC Accounting Services, Inc. With over 20 plus years of experience in auditing and finance, she has tax preparation and audit compliance expertise. She is highly knowledgeable in tax laws and works with clients to optimize their financial strategies. Rebecca has obtained several educational degrees, an Associate degree in Accounting, a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting, and later earned her Master's degree with a focus in Management/Accounting. Rebecca has obtained her Enrolled Agent License with the IRS and Certified Internal Auditor (CIA). Rebecca is a native of Alabama currently residing in the state of Maryland. She started her career as a senior accountant with Daytona International Speedway. Throughout her years of employment, she has worked for several fortune five hundred companies, such as Honda Corporation, TYCO Inc, and Springs Water, as a Senior Accountant/Supervisor. Rebecca started her government career with the Internal Revenue Service as a Federal Revenue Agent auditing Small Businesses, LLCs, S corporations, and Partnerships. As her career grew with the IRS, she became a Supervisory of Audit and worked with the Department of Treasury as a Tax advisor. Rebecca advanced her career and went to work with the Biden Adminstration with the Federal Elections Commission as Supervisory of Audit in Washington, DC where her team audits supports the mission to protect the integrity of the federal campaign finance process by providing transparency and fairly enforcing and administering federal campaign finance laws. Rebecca is dedicated to helping adults and young learners achieve their entrepreneurship goals through compliance and reporting. Rebecca is a wife and mother of three beautiful girls. She also serves her community by volunteering and serving on two non-profit as board of director. She is also a a member of several professional and community organizations. MEET DR. DOWNER
Dr. Downer is the former senior vice president of accounting and finance for D&S Medical Consulting firm and is an adjunct professor of accounting, finance, and business for over eight years. Dr. Downer has mentored both undergraduate and graduate learners She has over 25 years of accounting, finance, and auditing experience working with several large and small corporations. She has a Doctorate of Business Administration (DBA), with a focus in Accounting from South University. master’s in accounting and Finance Management from Keller Graduate School of Management and earned a BA in Accounting and Technical Management from DeVry University, graduating with honors. She is a member of the Phi Beta Lambda Business Fraternity (PBL), a fraternity that is “dedicated to inspiring and developing the next generation of leaders by preparing members for careers in business and business-related fields”. She Is also a member of the National Honors Society (NHS) and Sigma Beta Delta, an Honor Society for students in the business or management field of study. She is a certified public accountant (CPA) and certified fraud examiner (CFE) and is also an international publisher and has published a book chapter in leadership. With her passion for accounting and finance, she believes that accounting and finance are not just a career, but a backbone of any business unit and therefore recognizes the challenges business owners and students face.
